The Artists Collective Spartanburg is celebrating birds this month!
The Solomon Gallery will showcase a collection of paintings by Greenville artist Lisa Shimko, with a focus on color and many featuring birds. Meanwhile, Gallery II will host a multi-artist exhibit of bird-related art, displaying various mediums such as paintings, photography, and ceramics.
The reception for the shows will be this coming Thursday evening (May 21st) from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. during the ACS’s Art Walk event. There will also be a special discussion on blue birds in the Upcountry at 7:00 p.m.
To join in the celebration, I’ll be displaying a variety of my bird-related tile and wall sculptures in my studio and my photography exhibit will feature all bird images, showcasing both habitat and portrait styles.
